Investment Properties with SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD® OSB

Finster GbR is a family-owned firm led by Dr Reinhard Finster, who develops, builds and rents housing. Following an initial positive experience building several blocks of flats with SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD® OSB, he invested in another project: two attractive residential buildings in the town of Gehrden near Hannover. Each of them comprises five flats as investments for letting out to tenants.

The SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD® OSB solid timber construction system convinced Dr Finster and his associates due not only to its eco-friendliness but above all to the speed of construction using it. Work to make the roofs began on November 11, 2020, and both buildings were weathertight as early as December 14, 2020. This rapid progress was enabled by several factors:

1. The large size of the prefabricated modules speeded assembly.
2. The modules were delivered in the order they would be used, which facilitated handling at the construction site.
3. Integrated recesses and cut-outs reduced work and costs for the electrical installations.

Additional time and costs were saved by the ability to directly coat the interior MAGNUMBOARD® OSB surfaces. This eliminated the extra work and costs that would have been required to attach an intermediate layer of plasterboard. Also for these modules, prefabrication and assembly were performed by an experienced team: MMD – MagnumBoard Manufaktur Deutschland GmbH & CO. KG prefabricated the solid modules, while the builders of Hanebutt GmbH were responsible for assembling them on site.

Both buildings are crowned by luxuriously equipped, spacious penthouse flats, each of which features a gallery level and a roof terrace stretching across the building’s entire width. Many interested parties have come to view the flats and nearly all of them have already found letters. A small number will be ready to occupy on November 1, 2021.
