Direct Indoor Finishing of SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD® OSB

While conventional glued laminated timber (glulam) still needs to be covered with gypsum fibreboard or the like, which in turn has to be trowelled with filler, with SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD^® OSB you can dispense with these additional steps. One reason is that the OSB board’s sanded surfaces readily accept finishes. Another is that use of the storey-high formats eliminates joints in walls. This isn’t possible with other engineered wood boards or glulam, so cracks tend to form when they are directly finished. That is why it is first necessary to cover them with gypsum fibreboard or another product. SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD^® OSB accelerates the pace of construction while slashing costs, as there is no need for this intermediate step. As soon as the prefabricated modules have been assembled, work to finish the interior surfaces can proceed right away.

Glulam is a popular choice when visible wood surfaces are wished, despite the fact that these are more expensive than standard grades. But for any other kind of wall design, SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD^® OSB is both more efficient and more cost-effective. Plus, it imposes virtually no limits on the imagination: paint or plaster, wallpaper or tile, practically any idea can be implemented.

Healthy Living with Rotkalk

Rotkalk is a natural lime-based plaster system, the harmonised components of which let walls breathe. It can be used on interiors or exteriors.

Volvox Espressivo clay paint

Open to diffusion, breathable and pollutant-binding – all of these properties are combined in the exclusive Volvox Espressivo clay paint. The wall and ceiling paint, dyed with natural earth pigments, is easy to process and makes for an improved room climate thanks to its moisture-regulating and odour-absorbing properties. In addition, the coating of this solvent-free clay paint contains a large amount of negative ions. These create a pleasant atmosphere for people with asthma complaints and skin conditions. All in all, due to its high solids content, a single coat of this permanently elastic coating is usually sufficient to obtain completely covered walls.
