Digital planning – with the SWISS KRONO COMPONENT PLANNER

Digitisation has been an increasingly important issue in the wood construction industry for some time. Wood construction quite frequently takes a pioneering role, and in hardly any other area of building is the degree of automation as high as it is in construction using wood and wood materials. Since digital processes are now standard in prefabrication, this means that architects, planners and engineers also face considerable challenges.

If regional requirements were also taken into consideration during this process? If various calculations were also possible? And if the contents also came with download and export options? 

As one of the most successful OSB manufacturers in Europe, SWISS KRONO has developed the web application "SWISS KRONO COMPONENT PLANNER" as the digital successor to the successful "Manual of Wood Frame Construction". Architects, engineers, planners and fabricators can use the tool to easily find the right component for their specific building project. Various filters, such as according to building classes, current regional requirements, type of property and noise and fire protection specifications, quickly bring you to the desired product. In addition, components can be checked for U-values, condensation and static. Users can create their own projects and forward information on individual or multiple components to dealers or fabricators in an uncomplicated manner. 

Pre-formulated text templates for tenders can be filled in with the selected components, individually adapted to the federal states, and then reused. This web app therefore provides concrete assistance and, as a digital tool, facilitates the day-to-day work of architects, planners and fabricators.
