Every fifth newly built house in Germany is a house made of wood. Those who build using wood actively make a contribution to the climate protection because wood is a natural CO₂ reservoir. Enough wood for a single-family house grows again in Germany every 20 seconds. Less energy is consumed in the production of building materials from wood than with conventional building materials such as steel, concrete, plastic, brick or aluminum.
Wood is the only building material that binds and stores the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. Every cubic meter of wood used to replace other building materials reduces CO₂ emissions in the atmosphere by an average of one ton.

Alternative energy concepts

Wood has a structure of insulating cavities and moisture-regulating cell walls. It has extremely high strength and natural thermal insulation properties. It offers best conditions for alternative energy concepts in house construction! Zero-energy or passive houses can be easily implemented in wood construction.

Well-balanced room climate

SWISS KRONO engineered wood products are glued 100 per cent formaldehyde-free and, due to their natural properties, have a positive effect on a well-balanced, healthy room climate.

Short construction time

In contrast to masonry and concrete construction, wood construction is a dry construction method. Buildings can be assembled to be rainproof from prefabricated elements within a few days. Thanks to the high degree of prefabrication, weak points such as joints, material changes, building moisture and long construction times are particularly avoided. You save space for the storage of building materials, because the prefabricated elements are delivered on schedule and installed directly.
Short construction times not only mean lower costs for the trades, but also enable faster delivery.

Extremely stable

Wood has yet another advantage: Despite its relatively low self-weight, it is still extremely stable. Beams, panels and boards on the roofs of existing buildings can be used to build several stories especially when adding stories and create additional new apartments.
