We’d like to show you a sampling of reference projects to illustrate how environmentally friendly, healthy wood-based materials can be used to create architecturally sophisticated dream homes. These examples make it clear how powerful and flexible this approach is for implementing contemporary ideas.
Detached homes, school buildings, refugee accommodations – there is practically no limit to the kinds of structures that have been erected using prefabricated panels or modules made with SWISS KRONO LONGBOARD OSB and SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD® OSB.
See for yourself the astounding capabilities of SWISS KRONO products!

The Maria Ward School for girls in Nuremberg is being rebuilt as a new, modern facility that will meet all of the prerequisites for optimised learning and teaching. While the construction work is ongoing – a project expected to last four years – instruction will take place in an interim building that was assembled by the Swiss firm of ERNE AG Holzbau from prefabricated modules made with engineered wood. The Swiss used SWISS KRONO OSB Longboards measuring 17.5 x 2.5m to fashion the 86 modules. These OSB boards mostly consist of fir wood, which is especially low in emissions by nature. Six special transporters carried the boards to ERNE in Switzerland for use as the floors and ceilings of the classroom modules.
The modular approach greatly speeds up the pace of construction – a multi-storey building can be erected in just a few weeks. The girls will begin attending classes in the interim building in the 2016/2017 school year. And when the new school is finished, ERNE Holzbau will take down the temporary modules so they can be reused elsewhere.
