SWISS KRONO at Branchentag Holz 2023

News | SWISS KRONO Germany

Every two years, a large number of firms converge on the “Branchentag Holz” (= Industry Event for Wood) Cologne. What they all have in common is, naturally, a passion for wood. On the 7th and 8th of this November, timber merchants, wood industry representatives, service providers and product suppliers all packed into Hall 8 at the Cologne fairgrounds. The available exhibition space was completely booked out by a whopping 161 companies from 17 countries. And one of them was SWISS KRONO. We presented sustainable materials for timber construction, flooring and furniture production.

We have developed SWISS KRONO MAGNUMBOARD® OSB,  a flexible solid timber system for sustainable construction. Examples of modules made with it were integrated in the stand with the slogan ‘Timber Construction Without Limits’ for visitors to view. MAGNUMBOARD® OSB modules bearing the European Technical Approval (ETA) had been produced by SWISS KRONO licensees in sizes up to 2.8 x 18 metres, and besides being highly attractive their use greatly speeded up the work to get the stand ready.

We attracted loads of attention with one of the more colourful exhibits at the event. This was ensured above all by our new flooring, kiwi now. We also provided the first public glimpse of ‘kiwi now’ in a sneak preview in advance of its actual debut at DOMOTEX 2024. All six wood decors of the new kiwi now collection – PVC-free, wood-based, vegan, water-resistant, very long-lived and extremely easy to install – were quite impressive to behold, in vibrant yellow with fresh, striking design details.

Also featured at our stand: COREPEL, the flagship of our robust designer floors. This water-proof, highly durable flooring comprising a sheathed wood core merges aesthetics with functionality, making it an outstanding solution for both homes and businesses.

Our colleagues from SWISS KRONO’s home office in Switzerland also unveiled BE.VELVET a fingerprint-resistant surface for furniture of all kinds. It’s impervious to children’s hands, finger food, you name it. BE.VELVET is also antibacterial and scratchproof, making it ideally suited for heavily used surfaces like in kitchens. BE.VELVET feels soft and warm into the bargain, plus it’s nonreflective and consequently highly matt.

We were delighted with the enthusiastic response to our product exhibits, making many new contacts and conversing with a large number of guests in a highly agreeable ambience. Overall the event was an enormous success, setting a new record with more than 3,300 visitors. We want to warmly thank all of the organisers, the involved SWISS KRONO staff, our service providers and everyone else who attended this industry happening. And we’re looking forward to seeing them all again in two years!

P.S. In case word hasn’t got round yet, the world’s best barista, Fabio de Nittis, has been accompanying us to trade events for many years. And this time was no exception. He was in great form, impressing both us and visitors to the SWISS KRONO stand with his delicious coffee specialties.
