The method of finishing kitchen worktops

the worktop surface is covered with HPL (+ protective film to be removed once the worktop has been installed),
edge board (from an HDF 3 mm board) – protects and strengthens the curved edge of the top,
the straight back edge is covered with a BK type melamine edging tape,
the bottom surface is covered with a backing paper for laminates,
UV varnish on the worktop underside (a stripe of about 10 cm next to the polyurethane glue) - to protect against moisture and steam,
the contact site between the laminate and the backing paper is protected with a polyurethane glue.

Important Notes!

Each mechanical interference (milling, cutting) in the structure of the table top requires absolute protection of open surfaces against moisture. We recommend using commercially available agents, e.g. polyurethane-solvent adhesives. Additionally, for sealing the edges, for example, silicone should be used. In the case of installation of household appliances under the countertop, its underside must be additionally and effectively protected against water vapor.

The back edge of BK (in one-sided curved tops) does not protect the top against water. We recommend using, for example, worktop trim.

For the maintenance of kitchen worktops, it is recommended to use a soft, dry or damp cloth. Coarse dirt can be removed with a washing-up liquid solution. Then wipe with a damp, soft cloth and wipe dry. No aggressive cleaning agents or polishes can be used. More information in the "Instructions for assembly and use of kitchen worktops".
