The SWISS KRONO Group has attached value to the sustainable use of resources since its formation. Wood is a valuable, renewable raw material – and one of the most environmentally friendly. The SWISS KRONO Group takes its responsibility not only for the environment but also for future generations seriously. The Group’s long-term strategy includes targeted investments with which the Group promote environmental protection and minimise the use of natural resources. The SWISS KRONO Group continuously examines and invests to put sustainability into practice to its full extent.

Through its leading role in the wood-based products industry, the Group is particularly committed to environmental protection. The Group keeps its raw material, water and energy consumption as low as possible and uses recycled wood where it makes sense. The Group burn non-recyclable biomass to keep the use of fossil fuels such as crude oil and natural gas as low as possible. This helps to improve the CO2 balance by using wood-based materials instead of other energy and resource-intensive products. Since the Group thus make almost complete use of material flows and due to the CO2 sink effect of the raw material of wood from sustainable forestry, the Group products can help to reduce the greenhouse gas effect.
