Flooring

Are the SWISS KRONO floors waterproof?

SWISS KRONO offers AQUA ZERO water-resistant floor panels, made on hydrophobic green HDF board, which together with the leak-proof AQUA PEARL locking system allows the floor to resist even a three-day flooding with water. These floor panels are perfect for hallways, living rooms and even kitchens.

What is the repeatability of the pattern on laminated panels?

The number of boards with different pattern depends on the format of the floor panels:

  • The width of 159 mm is 12 different boards
  • Panel widths 188, 191 and 193 mm are 10 different boards
  • Panel width 242, 244 mm is 8 different boards.

The boards may vary in shade and the best effect is achieved by mixing them while laying. The same boards placed next to each other can cause a visual effect of dark spots on the floor.

Are SWISS KRONO laminated panels suitable for installation over underfloor heating?

Yes. All thicknesses and collections have been tested for thermal resistance and thermal conductivity. We recommend to use thickness 8 and 10 mm.

How large area can be cover by laminate flooring?

The panels in thicknesses up to 10mm should be placed in a single slope max 6x8lm. The panels in thickness of 12 mm, collections Platinum King Size and Aurum, Sound, can be installed in one plane max 10x12lm. If we are dealing with a larger surface area to cover, use expansion joints that can cover trims.

What is a floating floor?

This is the type of cover which is not attached at any point (glue, bolts, nails or other means) to the floor. Kronopol flooring is made of wood-based board, which has it’s linear expansion, and therefore needs to take place to change the dimensions.

What is abrasion class and what does it mean?

brasion Class AC is a parameter of laminate quality, which informs of the resistance to the wear. Class AC 3 corresponds to the strength of min 2000 rotations on Taber abrasion test. AC 4 respectively min 4000 rotations, and AC 5 min 6000 rotations.

What are the EPLF recommendations regarding substrates for laminate flooring?

A laminate floor can only prove its qualities if the underlayment as a part of the entire flooring system functions optimally. We encourage You to read the full text of the document "European Producers of Laminate Flooring - That's how laminate finds the appropriate underlay. New requirements for underlay materials underneath laminate floor covering"

How to take care of the surface of the laminate flooring?

Corundum, in terms of hardness inferior only to diamonds, is a material responsible for the abrasion of laminate flooring. The higher its content in the surface layer, the higher the abrasion class. For that reason you will come across floorings with mysterious symbols like AC3, AC4 or AC5.

Abrasion is not the only factor that determines the life span of our floorings and the joy stemming from using them. Here are some reliable, and sometimes even essential, ideas:

  • the legs of the chairs and other furniture must be secured with felt,
  • remember to sweep the sand brought in on shoes,
  • putting doormats in front of the entrances to your home, where all the sand and snow brought on our shoes is left, is a good idea,
  • products intended for laminate floorings should be used for cleaning and maintaining the floors. Kronopol has in its offer the following agents for cleaning and maintaining laminate floorings www.swisskrono.pl/en/platinium/Advices/Care-and-use

How to decorate an apartment in the Italian style

The sunny Tuscany or the wealthy Lombardy are not only famous for the sun and good wine, but also for great design. Italians organise the most important interior design trade fairs – Salone Internazionale del Mobile. This Milanese event is for many the determinant of the current trends in interior design. The Italian style which is characterised by sophisticated elegance, warmth and cohesion can now be a part of your apartment.

Interiors decorated in the Italian style are characterised by spaciousness and large amounts of light coming through large windows. If our windows are not too large, the spaciousness effect can be achieved by using bright colours of both walls and furniture.

Warm colours of the earth and accessories in shades of ochre or gentle contrasts with the more intense browns and green in olive shade have been very fashionable lately. Various structural pastes and paints with a satin sheen will also be a good choice.

Two of the most popular types of the Italian style are classics and minimalism. The classic version is characterised by the interior design abounding in all sorts of accessories. The whole is complemented with wooden furniture and decorative stucco. Italian style in the minimalist version is primarily clear and large surfaces, elegant furniture with simple shapes, made of good quality fabric, metal, glass and wood.

We highly recommend the collection in this style – Platinum Floors – Paloma
