2023 DETAIL Product Awards – the Die Has Been Cast

Although this time around we didn’t succeed in winning the trophy, we were very pleased by the nomination and second place for our ONE-BLOCK party wall and the invitation to attend the awards ceremony. It’s presented on the cover of the December issue of DETAIL and also on the magazine’s website.

Big thanks go to the DETAIL editorial team, which picked out the nominees from the many entries received and advanced our ONE-BLOCK party wall to the final round. We also want to sincerely thank everyone who voted for our product!

The following benefits of the party wall impressed the jury:

• Excellent airborne sound reduction (R_W = 66 dB)
• No spring rails or acoustic isolation clips required
• Consists of a single block just 265 mm thick
• Can be prefabricated in the factory
• No additional soundproofing required during construction
• Removable
• Eligible for subsidies in connection with the German government’s QNG quality seal for sustainable buildings

All of the nominees gathered in the 1804 Chalet in Munich for the awards ceremony and had a great evening. By the way, first place in the “design and building physics” category went to a modular timber construction system from Timber Homes. Congratulations to the winner! We see this as confirmation and a good sign for building with wood. And modern wood-based products are optimally suited for this.
