KRONOPOL floor panels - how are they made and why should you choose them?

SWISS KRONO POLAND, headquartered in Żary, Lubuskie province, is one of the largest manufacturers of wood-based panels and products. It has been offering its products since 1994, but the products were not immediately laminate flooring. Initially, a particleboard production line was launched, followed a few years later by an OSB, and MDF production line. Increasing production potential, experience and know-how caused the manufacturer, previously recognized under the KRONOPOL brand, to develop its product portfolio to include laminated panels as well. KRONOPOL laminate flooring - how is it made? The material required to create the floor is the backing board. In laminate flooring it is HDF board, which is produced on a special line designed for this purpose. It is prepared from wood that KRONOPOL buys from FSC-certified suppliers (including State Forestry). It's worth mentioning that KRONOPOL's panels are mainly made from wood that has no use in other areas of the industry, so-called pulpwood or wood chips and scrap from other wood processing plants. For KRONOPOL, they are a full-value raw material, using the idea of recycling and supporting environmental protection. The previously prepared raw material (wood chips) is cleaned and goes to a so-called refiner, which pulverizes them, i.e. splits the wood into strands of fibers. When the fibers are soaked in glue, dried and sorted, they go to the press, where in an environment of high pressure and temperature the HDF board is formed. The necessary material for the production of laminate flooring is the so-called impregnated film, which is the de facto decor of our future floor. The basic raw material for its production is suitable paper and specially prepared resins. The paper is soaked in the appropriate resin mixture, and then subjected to drying and cooling. After this process, it is cut into sheets, which are applied to the HDF backing board and pressed at a temperature of about 180 degrees Celsius for several seconds. Then the decor is protected with a top layer using the addition of alumina, which, as one of the hardest minerals on earth, provides laminate flooring with exceptional abrasion resistance and durability.
