The floor is the base for all elements of the apartment, we lay it for years. That's why we've prepared a handy list of questions to help you choose flooring.
What affects the aesthetics of your floor:
- COLORP ask for an original sample of the floor and check its color in different lights (warm, cold). Compare it to the one you have in your apartment. Don't trust colors on the Internet or in catalogs.
- STRUCTURE See, touch what kind of structure the floor has. Structure determines the noble appearance of the floor. See how the synchronous structure changes the floor.
- SIZE See what the dimensions of the panels or tiles are. This affects the harmony of the room (e.g. small rooms - smaller formats / large rooms - larger formats).
- LISTING Make sure that the floor has moldings to complete the set. It is a good idea if the moldings can be cut so that there is no need for plastic fasteners.
- V-FUGA Check if the floor has V-grout, which extends the life of the floor.
- NATURALITY Pay attention to whether it has a look close to natural wood.
Technical parameters to ask about:
- Before you buy, check your area of choice for new technologies.
- Find out if waterproof collections are available.
- Ask if underfloor heating can be used.
- Check the thickness of the floor. This is important, because, for example, 8 mm panels will fit perfectly with ceramic tile, and 10 mm is ideal for larger spaces and heavy furniture.
- Find out if the floor can be laid without thresholds, between rooms.
- Check if there is a simple instruction included with the sequence of tasks for self-assembly, and a list of tools needed for this.
- Ask for a friendly professional (at the point of sale) to install the floor.
- Check the wear class of the floor (preferably ≥ AC4
- Pay attention to what kind of lock the floor has. The ease of installation and the life of the floor depend on it.
