Roger Braun appointed manager of SWISS KRONO Group’s Switzerland location

January 2019 – Roger Braun, long-standing COO and member of the Board of Directors at the Switzerland location of the SWISS KRONO Group, will take up the position of location manager from 1 February. In his new role, Braun will report directly to Martin Brettenthaler, CEO and Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors. Operating in locations across the globe, the wood-based materials manufacturer runs its main production facility in Menznau, Switzerland, where it employs nearly 500 people. Since July 2018, Georg Mäder – who serves as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer (CSMO) and also sits on the Group’s Board of Directors – has been acting as the interim manager of the Switzerland location.
Commenting on the appointment, SWISS KRONO CEO Martin Brettenthaler said: “Roger Braun was identified as the right person for the role following an intensive selection process. With his profound knowledge of the sector and his leadership qualities, we believe that he is in the perfect position to serve as manager of our Switzerland location.” Braun’s activities in the role will build upon the foundations that Georg Mäder and the Board of Directors at the Switzerland location have worked hard on laying over recent months.
A native of Switzerland himself, Roger Braun served as the COO at the Menznau site over the period between 1999 and 2011, and then took up the position a second time in 2015. His CV also includes experience as Managing Director of Nascor Generalbauunternehmung GmbH in Berlin, Germany, and Managing Director of Balteschwiler AG in Laufenburg, Switzerland. A married father, Braun holds a Dipl. Holzbauing. HTL degree from Bern University of Applied Sciences Wood Technology School in Biel and a Master of Advanced Studies degree from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
